Seth Godin and Tom Peters

This is a quick video by marketing legend Seth Godin and management superstar Tom Peters. I must admit, I hadn’t really considered the benefit Seth brings up, but after thinking about it I completely agree.  Tom Peters will share the thing that has meant the most to him professionally in the last 15 years.

You will also learn the marketing activity these industry giants think is the best by an order of magnitude. You will want to make sure you prioritize this method in your marketing efforts.

I am a huge fan of Seth and love his books on marketing. I highly recommend his marketing best seller “Tribes”, especially if you are building your business online.

Online Success: 7 Blogging Mistakes To Avoid

Blogging is by far one of my favorite marketing activities for online success. It’s a great way for me to share the tons of information I’ve learned about online marketing.

Blogging is not hard, but there are some basic mistakes that are easy to make.

Here is a list of 7 blogging mistakes to avoid:

Mistake #1: Not making your articles attractive to the eye. Make sure your font is readable and your blog has a nice clean layout.

Online Success: Blog Mistakes

Mistake #2: Writing complex, paragraph-long sentences, especially if there is a hidden underlying meaning. Keep your sentences and paragraphs short, and use language that is easy for your target market to understand.

Your paragraphs should be 2-3 sentences long at most. Even if you end up with a paragraph break at a non-standard place, your blog will be easier on the eye and easier for your readers to read online.

Mistake #3
: Not writing in a conversational style. You should pretend you are writing to one person, and one person only, your ideal reader. Write as if you are talking to them one-on-one. Be sure to express your opinion too.

Mistake #4: Not spell checking your articles before publishing them. Misspelled words are annoying to many people and will make you seem careless and uneducated.

Mistake #5: Writing for search engines, not humans. If you use keywords to get traffic from the search engines, make sure the article still reads well for humans, your ultimate customer. Getting search engine traffic doesn’t do you any good if your readers can’t follow your writing easily.

Mistake #6
: Writing to make money, not because you like the topic. If you are passionate about your topic, it will come across in your writing and your readers will pick up on it.

Mistake #7: One-way dialogs. Try to engage your readers in discussion. Ask them to leave comments. Ask them what they think. Get them to think and share their thoughts.

That’s my quick list of 7 common blogging mistakes. I would love for you to share additional blogging mistakes to avoid for your online success.

Just leave a comment and share your tips and thoughts. In return, you’ll get some search engine love in the form of a link back to your website!

To Massive Online Success,
